Suffolk, my home
We have rugged grasslands, wetlands, salt marshes, beaches, along with wonderful food and drink. I can always find an emotional connection, when I am out walking the dogs, or wandering through the markets or just sitting in the garden, and that kick starts my next piece of work.
Bury St Edmunds is described as A Jewel in the Crown of Suffolk
Surrounded by beautiful countryside and steeped in over 1,000 years of history, Bury St Edmunds is the historic home of Saint Edmund, the original patron saint of England. In medieval times, the Abbey of St Edmund was one of the richest and most powerful Benedictine monasteries in the country, attracting pilgrims from across Europe to visit St Edmund’s shrine. Although the Abbey was dissolved in 1539, the mystery of Edmund’s final resting place remains—many believe he still lies hidden within the Abbey ruins.
I am constantly inspired by everything ‘East’. I know so many of you feel the same. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, I love to see the agricultural machinery, tractors, combines, what can I say. We all watched Jeremy Clarkson and thought we could be farmers! The fluff factor is high, just look around, smell the flowers! We live in an area steeped in history yet we are creating our own history every day.
